SHAFAQNA (International Shia News Association) – Samsung Electronics has announced that they have developed a new Wi-Fi technology with blazing five times more speed than the present maximum rate.
They have announced that through 60 GHz Wi-Fi technology, a user can transfer a 1 GB movie file between 2 gadgets in less than 3 seconds.
It is a known fact that millimeter waves from the Wi-Fi device will cut down while reaching the device. Samsung has managed to develop the new Wi-Fi technology by leveraging millimeter-wave by altering the design of the circuit. They are said to be using the high performing modems and the best antennas.
In a statement released through emails, the South Korean electronics giant has mentioned that the company has actually surpassed the actual theoretically possible speed.
Samsung’s R&D president Kim Chang Yong said, “Samsung has successfully overcome the barriers to the commercialization.” The email also mentioned, “New and innovative changes await Samsung’s next-generation devices, while new possibilities have been opened up for the future development of Wi-Fi technology.”
Samsung has recently released its quarterly profit report which showed a growth of more than 60 percent.
The South Korean electronics giant has already announced that they are going to invest $14.5 billion for building a new plant in South Korea. The step is being taken in order to meet the increase in demands of semiconductor chips.
The launch of 60 GHz Wi-Fi in the market is expected to be in the first quarter of 2015.
Samsung has plans of targeting the audio-visual, Wi-Fi supported medical devices and the telecommunication industries.
