Saudi cuts diplomatic relation with Iran

SHAFAQNA – According to a news report published by Al Arabiya – a news outlet close to Riyadh, the kingdom broke off all diplomatic ties with Iran, arguing it would not tolerate Tehran to undermine its authority.

Such a political escalation came after protesters set fire to the Saudi embassy in Tehran following the execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.

Grand Ayatollah Mousavi Ardebili issued a fatwa on January 3rd, calling for a strict observation of international conventions and treaties – in keeping with Islamic law.
