SHAFAQNA – Shafaqna was pained to learn of the death of a priest in France by the hands of Daesh militants. We would like of course to extend are most sincere condolences to the family of the victims, and those in France who feel affected by this new crisis.
As a Muslim organization our hearts and our prayers are with you. We know this Terror you know face as it is the same terror which has persecuted and oppressed our religious communities across the centuries.
Please do know that this radicalism which claims itself Islamic is foreign to us, and is not in fact rooted in the Holy Scriptures. Islam, like Christianity and Judaism does not sanctity in bloodshed, senseless violence and sectarianism.
If Islam allows for self-defence and commands resistance in the face of tyranny, it does not call for the murder of the innocent. Islam will never speak or even rationalise indoctrination, forced-conversion and religious enslavement.
Muslims have a duty of care towards the people of the Book.
Although our arms may not reach you we will offer our assistance and our solidarity if you call on us, as you are us.
It is our most sincere wish that this evil we call radicalism be struck, and forever destroyed. It is our most sincere wish that communities could once more live side by side without fear of persecution, without misapprehension … It is our wish that the evil which has besieged Islam be given its true name.
We absolutely, unequivocally, wholeheartedly reject, and denounce the violent ideology of Daesh: Wahhabism.
We loath its violence, and we abhor its laws.
Islam is not Wahhabism, and Wahhabism is not Islam!
