SHAFAQNA – Most Islamic scholars from Shia and Sunni believe that heaven and hell have been created by Allah (SWT) and they are in existence now. But Sheikh Sadooq (RA) explained in more details about the beliefs of various groups about heaven and hell. The great Shia scholar, Sheikh Sadooq (RA) said: Our belief about heaven and hell is that those two (heaven and hell) have been created (by Allah (SWT)), and the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) at the time of Meraj, entered heaven and also observed hell [1].

The great Shia scholar, Sheikh Mofeed (RA) reviewed the beliefs of various groups about heaven and hell in Awa’elul Maqalaat and said: Heaven and hell have been created and they are currently in existence, and the narrations do confirm this and the followers of the religion (Islam) agree on this, but most of Mo’tazelah, and Khawarej, and a group of Zaidiyeh say: The creation of heaven and hell is probable but this is not a reason for their current existence. But at the same time, Abu Hashim Jabaei from Mo’tazelah, considered the existence of heaven and hell as impossible, and believed that heaven and hell will not be created before the Day of Judgment [2].
