Special features of Sahifah Sajjadiyyah (Part Two)

SHAFAQNA – Mohammad Taqi Majlesi claimed that he had one million documents for narrating Sahifah [4]. Sahifah in Kaf’ami’s hand writing which is one of the oldest versions which was taken out of Iran but with lots of efforts was returned to Qom and finally was printed and distributed has 4 more Duas than the other versions which have 54 Duas [5].

In his Duas, Imam Sajjad first praises God, and then he greets the prophet (PBUH) and his family and finally requests his wishes from Allah (SWT) [6]. Sahifah is also a collection of many Islamic sciences and education in which cultural, social, political and religious cases have been mentioned within the framework of Duas.

The titles of Duas in Sahifah Sajjadiyyah are different and many of Islamic sciences (Islamic theology) have been mentioned within Duas, for example cases of monotheism, ontology, unseen world, angels, prophetic missions, the position of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and his Ahlul Bait (AS), Imamate, morality and ethics, commemorating Islamic Eids, social and economical issues, historical issues, remembrance of God’s blessings, manner of reciting Duas, Zikr, Salaat, prayers, etc. The most famous Dua in Sahifah is Dua Makarem Akhlaq. One of the most important political-religious topics in Sahifah Sajjadiyyah is the issue of Imamate [7].
