SHAFAQNA – Alama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, criticized Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for announcing development package worth Rs.47 billion for Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

The MWM chief declared the premier’s development package announcement as pre poll rigging in GB. He asked a question to Nawaz Sharif that why you remember people of GB only in the days of elections. The Supreme Court must take suo motu notice against this pre poll rigging in GB

“The people of GB are informed about the less loyalty of Mian Sahib toward GB. PML-N’s pre poll rigging was started that time when he placed a person from his cabinet as the governor in GB,” he said, and demanded of the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice against this pre poll rigging in GB. He also urged all political parties to condemn this criminal act, adding that PML-N and PPP will definitely be defeated in the upcoming elections, as they have not roots in the public of GB.

He said, “Nawaz government has transferred officers from Punjab GB on different officers’ rank from AC to DSP. They have snatched the rights of GB officers and this is just to get benefits from these officers in the elections. The government officers from bottom to top even at secretary level are being transferred ahead of the election. Fair and free elections cannot be possible under present administration of GB. This time MWM will give tough time to rivals and gain vital success in the upcoming elections. MWM is only party that can fight for the rights of people of GB.”
