Terrorist groups as Boko Haram are hurting the human conscious : Iran President

SHAFAQNA – President Hassan Rouhani said here on Monday that the brazen crimes by such terrorist groups as Boko Haram are hurting the human conscious.

He made the remarks here on Monday when he received the credentials of the new Kenyan Ambassador to Tehran Ruqyah Ahmad Subu.

He stressed that fighting terrorism called for a serious collective move by world countries.

The President expressed sorrow that many terrorist groups are acting in the name of religion and Islam while their conduct has no signs of the teachings of the holy religion.

Referring to the insecurity caused by Somali pirates, he highlighted the need for countries to assist each other in cultural, political and information areas to eliminate the grounds for the activities of terrorist groups.

He termed Kenya as an important and influential country in East Africa and said ties with Nairobi has been always of significance for Iran.

President Rouhani further said bilateral relations should be increased in economic, cultural, scientific and tourism areas.

The Kenyan ambassador, for his part, stressed expansion of cooperation and further implementation of existing potentials.

He expressed happiness over the projects underway in his country by Iranian firms especially in the field of road construction.
