SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi answered a question about testing the suitor with sinful ways.
Question: If a girl tests her suitor with another/different (phone) number, in order to become obvious whether the boy (the suitor) is a believer or not; the suitor (then) talks about sexual matters, and is ready to commit adultery, now what is the ruling about this girl’s action?
The Grand Ayatollah Makarem: Such action is not allowed, and must seriously repent, and do not repeat it; unless it is the only way to find out/know.
