The benefits of fasting in this world and in the hereafter

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) who said: Allah (SWT) said: Fasting is for Me, and I will grant its rewards [1]. Therefore, there are many benefits for fasting in this world and the hereafter, because Divine Rewards are many and varied. And as Allah (SWT) directly is dealing with the affairs of the fasting person, there will be no neglect in this, because God is an absolute wise and kind supreme being as well as an absolute magnanimous being.

In another narration, the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) said: The one who is prevented from his/her favourite foods by fasting; God will feed him/her from heavenly food and drinks [2]. It is also narrated from the Prophet (PBUH) who said: How blessed is the person who has become hungry and thirsty for the sake of Allah (SWT). These people will be fed fully (by Allah (SWT) with heavenly food and drink) on the Day of Judgment [3].
