SHAFAQNA -The Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli expressed his viewpoint about Zakat-ul-Fitr.
- The amount of Zakat-ul-Fitr is three kilograms of wheat, rice, date, or similar to them, or the money for them which are different in each area.
- The payment of Zakat-ul-Fitr is Wajib for the head of the household on behalf of any one who is counted as his/her dependent (s) at the evening of Eid (not sunset). Someone who at the evening of Eid eats from host’s food (as guest) is not counted rather must be his/her dependent (s). Therefore, any person/guest who only eats at someone’s Iftar ceremony is not counted as his/her dependent (s), and it is not Wajib for the host to pay for their Zakat-ul-Fitr.
- A person, who until the noon of Eid-ul-Fitr has no money to pay for Zakat-ul-Fitr, is not Wajib for him/her to borrow the money; although it is correct if he/she borrows the money and pay (Zakat-ul-Fitr). Of course if he/she has not borrowed the money, must pay Zakat-ul-Fitr after receiving his/her wages.
