SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – Question: What is the rule, regarding the membership of social sites in internet such as Facebook?
The Grand Ayatollah Safi: Generally, using the internet for legal and correct ways that will not lead to moral corruption but also can be used to promote religion, is allowed. But visiting sites which will lead to moral corruption, is Haram. Believers should be active in cyber space to answer those who try to mislead others and of course in this way should spread the message of Ahlul Bait by using the help of religious scholars.
