SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi Zanjani answered a question regarding the preference of expanding the Mosque to the other religious places.
Question: I have a land near a Mosque and a Hossainieh in the area and I want to donate it for holding religious occasions in there. The Mosque’s need for expansion is greater but on the other hand Quran classes and religious occasions are held in Hossainieh. What is your view, which one has the priority?
The Grand Ayatollah Shobairi: Expanding Mosques and places related to Ahlul Bait (AS) both will strengthen the religion and are good deeds. Considering the conditions mentioned, it is specified in the verses (of Quran) and narrations that it is appropriate for the Mosque to be expanded and in the hours when Salaat is not performed, (the Mosque) to be allocated for Quranic and religious activities.
