The Grand Ayatollah Sistani’s answers to questions about taking a piece of holy Ka’aba’s cover

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Sistani answered questions about taking a piece of the cover of the holy Ka’aba.

Question: If a person takes a piece of the cover of the holy Ka’ba, is it necessary to return it? Who should it be returned to?

The Grand Ayatollah Sistani: If the authorities in charge of the affairs of ka’aba have given it to a person to use, sell it, to give it as a gift, use it as praying mat or use it to cover the Quran and similar uses, it is alright. But if it has been taken secretly, the Wajeb precaution is to inform the authorities.
