The Prophet of Islam (PBUH) the most complete role model for humanity

SHAFAQNA – The Prophet of Islam (PBUH) as the most complete role model for humanity was very kind and compassionate to people and by having such a noble characteristic managed during 23 years to guide so many to the right path. In this regard, Ayah 107 of Surah Al-Anbia says: “God sent you as a mercy for all creatures.” The Prophet of Islam (PBUH) said: If kindness could be seen, it would have been so beautiful, more than any other created being by Allah (SWT) [1].

The Prophet (PBUH) was not just kind to his family, friends or believers, he was kind even to those who opposed him. That is why God praised the Prophet (PBUH) in Ayah 4 of Surah Al-Qalam by saying: “Certainly you possess an exalted character.” The secret of Prophet’s (PBUH) success in management of the Islamic State was his love towards people and this point has been highlighted in Ayah 159 of Surah Al-e-Imran: “It is by God’s mercy that you deal with them gently. If you were harsh to them, they would have dispersed from around you.”

Prophet’s (PBUH) kindness turned many of his sworn enemies into sincere friends. It is narrated from Imam Hussain (AS) who narrated from his father Imam Ali (AS) who said [2]: “The Prophet of Islam (PBUH) was always kind, cheerful and smiling and  he never was ruthless, argumentative or flattery. No one became disappointed in him and whoever came to his door, never returned hopeless.

Whenever an uninformed person talked to him roughly and had a request, he used to tolerate and say to his companions: If you see a person who has a request, grant it and the Prophet (PBUH) never cut any one’s speech and always used to let others finish what they had to say.” That is how the great Prophet of Islam (PBUH) managed to capture the hearts by his kindness and compassion as well as to reconcile millions of hearts with Allah (SWT).
