The way Imam Ali (AS) preserved the unity of the Islamic nation (Part Three)

SHAFAQNA – Ibn Abelhadeed narrated that one day when Lady Fatima Zahra (AS) was telling Imam Ali (AS) that they should protest, at this time, the call to prayers (Azan) could be heard that was calling the name of the Prophet (PBUH). Imam Ali (AS) replied: If you want the name of the Prophet (PBUH) and the Azan to remain, we should stay silent and bear it. Imam Ali (AS) in Letter Number 58 in Nahjul Balagha said: I am the critic of this situation but no one is more eager than me for unity and kindness between Islamic Ummah (nation). After the passing away of the Prophet (PBUH), God tested us by my actions. I have no other intentions except doing deeds for the satisfaction and reward from God.

In Wisdom Number 22 in Nahjul Balagha, Imam Ali (AS) said: We had a right and we declared it. If this right is given to me I will do my duty otherwise I will ride my camel and do my own work. In Ansabul Ashraaf it is narrated from Imam Ali (AS) who said: I could argue but I did not because I feared the era of ignorance would return. In another words Imam (AS) said: Swear to God, if I had not feared that fighting between Muslims would have broken out and disbelief and destruction of religion would have returned, I would not have stayed silent and would have acted otherwise. Imam Ali (AS) stayed silent because after the passing away of the Prophet (PBUH) the wave of apostasy started amongst Muslims.
