The way materialists make decisions

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – Prior to carry out any act, the materialists first consider what kind of results it will have for them. If it will bring them materialistic pleasures then they will do it otherwise they will leave it. Their criterion is just the worldly pleasures or put it another way, the boundaries of their decision making is the trap they have been caught in and wonder in it. Therefore if they see an act is in the same direction of their carnal desires, they will target it and go for it.

It is narrated for Imam Ali (AS) who said: This trap will wrap around the one who relishes it, the strings of this trap are lusts and carnal desires and become stronger and stronger with more materialistic desires [1]. Regarding the decision making, Imam Ali (AS) said: Those who love money are the slaves of the world [2]. Also in Nahjul Balagha, Imam Ali (AS) said: These worship the world, what a worship and they prefer the world, what a preference [3].
