SHAFAQNA – A meeting with Iraq’s new prime minister tops President Obama’s list of bilateral meetings this week at the United Nations. The White House also announced Monday that Obama will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Oct. 1. On the margins of UN meetings, Obama speaks Wednesday with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, who heads a newly formed government in Baghdad. The president has two more bilats on Thursday, the White House said: Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al Sisi. On Tuesday, Obama will have what the White House calls “a short pull-aside” with Spanish King Felipe VI.
