Weekly pilgrimages to holy shrines of al-Askari in Samarra

SHAFAQNA - Tourism department of the Imam Hussain holy shrine continues to transport pilgrims to the holy shrines in Iraq every day.

Riyadh El-Hekeem, director of the department said that the current pilgrimages are made to al-Askeriyain (Imam al-Hadi and Imam Hasan al-Eskari) in Samarra city.

Due to the security and stability in Samarra, there are 17 pilgrimages made every week, and the number of pilgrims is approximately 3500. Many pilgrims are now coming from the Golf Countries, Iran, in addition to some other countries.

50 buses are sent on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 12000 Iraqi Dinars, which equals approximately $10.
