What is the ultimate aim of Allah (SWT) in creating human being?

SHAFAQNA – In Ayah 56 of Surah Al-Zariat (or Al-Dhariyat), Allah (SWT) explained the ultimate aim of creating human being by saying: “And God created Jinn and human being only that they worship the Supreme Being.” Therefore, the ultimate aim of creating a creature by the name of human being is to worship God.

The ultimacy is in the creation and the created, not in the Creator; because the Creator is a complete being and does not need to do anything to be completed; indeed the Divine aim is hidden in creation so that a favour is bestowed on the created ones. It can be realised that the ultimate aim of creating human being must be sought in the effects of worship which God has assigned for human being.

Meaning, the Supreme Being has created human being to worship God and by that reach positions that cannot be reached by any another way. All prophets were assigned to guide human beings to worship God only as well as teaching them not to associate anything or anybody else with Allah (SWT) as mentioned in Ayah 2 and 26 of Surah Al-Hud; Ayah 40 of Surah Al-Yusuf; Ayah 23 of Surah Al-Asra’a; Ayah 60 of Surah Ya Sin; and Ayah 14 of Surah Al-Fosselat.
