SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about burying Muslims in Japan where bodies must be burned.

Question: What is the ruling about a person who lives in Japan and his wife is also from that country and they are residents there until the end of their lives, when they die? Because in that country it is not permitted to bury bodies according to Islamic way and they only burn the bodies.

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: If there is no Muslim in that country who can prepare and bury deceased Muslim body according to Islamic way, and the only Muslim in this regard has no means of preparing the deceased Muslim for burial, then there is no duty on the Muslim person, but the Muslim person is not allowed to help and prepare to burn the deceased Muslim.
