Who has the control over expanding or restricting the human being’s sustenance?

SHAFAQNA – Commenting on Ayah 52 of Surah Az-Zumar, Ayatollah Hadavi Tehrani explained: God said in this Ayah: “Know they not that Allah (SWT) expands the sustenance or restricts it, for anyone who God pleases? Verily, in this are sins for those who believe.” He added: In the starting Ayahs of Surah Al-Talaq, this point has come up in a different way and God said: “And for those who fear Allah (SWT), God ever prepares a way out. And God provides for them from (sources) which they never could imagine” which is the same saying as mentioned in Ayah 52 of Surah Az-Zumar. Ayatollah Hadavi further explained: The expansion and restriction of our sustenance is in the hands of God, but there are factors which are related to us and the most important of these factors is piety which leads to expansion of sustenance.
