Why is it necessary to act upon the gained knowledge?

SHAFAQNA – Mohammad ibn Yaqoob Kolainy narrated a Divine Narration that a man came to see Imam Zainul Abideed (AS) and asked some questions and received the replies. When that man wanted to leave, he turned back and wanted to ask more questions about the same subjects. Imam Sajjad (AS) said: It is written in Injeel (Bible) that as long as you have not acted upon what you know, do not ask about what you do not know; verily, the knowledge that is not acted upon, does not add anything to the one who has that knowledge except disbelief, ingratitude and distance from God [1].
