Why self-praise is a mistake?

SHAFAQNA – Self-praise is a mistake and human being should know that he/she is not the real owner of the possessions of this world. The holy Quran mentions examples of this fact very clearly as in the case of Qaroon who used to say that everything I have is due to my knowledge and belong to me as is explained in Ayah 78 of Surah Al-Qasas: He said: “I have earned all these wealth through my own knowledge and prudence.Did he not know that Allah (SWT) had destroyed before him whole generations which were superior to him in strength and greater in the amount of riches they had collected? But the wicked are not called (immediately) to account for their sins.”
