Why trying to earn Halal sustenance is so important in Islam?

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from Imam Sadeq (AS) who said: There is nothing good about someone who does not like to earn Halal income in order to preserve his dignity and pay his debts [1]. A close companion of Imam Reza (AS) requested Imam (AS) to pray for him so that God grants him Halal sustenance. Imam Reza (AS) asked: Do you know what Halal is? Imam’s companion replied: to us, it is the same as clean earning. Imam Reza (AS) said: Imam Sajjad (AS) used to say: Halal, is the food of the chosen ones.

Then Imam Reza (AS) said: Say this, O’ Allah (SWT); I request from You a large and extensive sustenance [2]. Imam Sadeq (AS) also recommended to his companion: Never abandon earning Halal sustenance because it will help you to keep your religion. Always prepare you ride (camel) and rely on Allah (SWT) [3]. Meaning, with reliance on God, try for earn Halal sustenance.
