Yemenis come out to support Ansarallah

SHAFAQNA – Tens of thousands of Yemenis came out this Friday to profess their support of Ansarallah – political arm of the Houthis – and condemn foreign intervention, namely the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Yemeni demonstrators took to the streets of Sana’a, the capital,  holding placards and posters of Ansarallah leader Abdul-Malek al-Houthi, confirmed sources on the ground.

Protesters vowed to continue with their struggle against corruption as well as their support for the decisions taken by popular revolutionary committees formed to bring the crisis-hit country back to order.

They also condemned the intervention of Saudi Arabia and the United States in Yemen’s internal affair.

Meanwhile, a counter-rally was held in the main square of the Southern city of Taiz, where participants showed solidarity with resigned Yemeni President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi.

Hadi, along with his former Prime Minister Khaled Bahah (Hadi’s resignation was never formerly approved by parliament) called on Ansarallah to relinquish power in Sana’a.
