SHAFAQNA– Senior Shia marja’a Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani has told the top religious authority in the Sultanate of Oman that Muslim clerics should explain to their countries’ authorities the risks of establishing diplomatic relations with Israel.
Ayatollah Sobhani in a letter that was sent from the Iranian holy city of Qom to Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad al-Khalili two months ago hailed the senior Sunni mufti for his support for the Palestinian cause. He had added that Muslims have forgotten the biggest problem in the face of Islamic nations which is Palestine and the plight of Palestinian people. Ayatollah Sobhani has then expressed his shock on hearing the news that the Sultanate of Oman is establishing diplomatic ties with the “occupied Zionist regime”.
Ayatollah Sobhani has continued that Muslim clerics such as Sheikh al-Khalili should warn rulers of their countries about the seditions, dangers and harms that such policy would have for Islam and Muslims.
He has urged Sheikh Ahmed al-Khalili and other Muslim clerics and scholars to condemn Takfiri groups, their supporters as well as the countries that send arms and ammunition to these extremist groups.
