SHAFAQNA– The Supreme Shia religious authority Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani has sent a message of condolence to the family of Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Shahroudi.
In his message to the late ayatollah’s son, the Supreme religious authority in Iraq voiced his sorrow for the passing of Ayatollah Shahroudi and hoped patience for his family.
Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini Shahroudi was born in Najaf in 1925. He was among the senior Shia scholars and clerics who were forced to leave Iraq under the pressure of the former Ba’ath regime and the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Ayatollah Hosseini Shahroudi published his Resalah Amaliyah in 1979. He later resided in the holy Iranian city of Qom in 1981 and began teaching at Qom Seminary. Ayatollah Hosseini Shahroudi passed away on July 7, 2019 at the age of 94 in the Iranian capital Tehran.
