India’s Mumbai hosts scientific forum about Hajj

SHAFAQNA Senior Shia and Sunni scholars have attended a forum on scientific aspects of the Hajj in Indian port city of Mumbai.

The one-day event which was organized by Iran’s Cultural attaché hosted five Shia and five Sunni senior clerics and scholars. The attendees discussed different issues including the philosophy of Hajj, the effects of the biggest Islamic gathering on Muslim unity and the way this important religious duty can resolve problems engulfed Islam.

The guests admitted Hajj still faces many problems and reiterated that as the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not the owner of the two holy mosques or the Hajj rituals and is only an administrator, it should consult with other Islamic countries about the organization and staging of this religious event.
