Muslim organization in Belgium sends 18 women as religious teachers to mosques

SHAFAQNAThe Muslim Executive of Belgium has begun a pilot plan by sending female religious teachers and preachers to schools in three different regions.

They are all Muslim women and are employed by the Belgian federal Government.   The 18 female teachers would teach the science of discourse (or Kalam) and make religious speeches at mosques in Dutch-speaking Flanders, French-speaking Wallonia and the Brussels-Capital regions.  There are at least 28, 39 and 17 official mosques in these regions respectively.

The Belgian Muslim organization is the official interlocutor of the Belgium government to implement its policies regarding the Muslim populations and communities of the Western European country. It was set up by a royal decree in 1996 and is close to Morocco.

The Muslim Executive of Belgium is tasked with setting up Islamic teaching curriculum, training imams, religious representatives and Muslims activists.  The federal government in Brussels pays all the wages of the members of this organization.
