SHAFAQNA- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe reviewed bilateral ties, recent developments about Iran nuclear deal, the regional and international issues such as the Persian Gulf and the Middle East and the diplomatic activities concerning the US economic terrorism.
According to Japanese media ‘Kyodo’, both sides held talks on ways to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East caused by US maximum pressure on Tehran.
Zarif met Abe in Yokohama on Wednesday. and welcomed the role of Japan’s government, and stressed that Iran does not want to increase tensions. He noted that all countries should be able to exercise their rights based on international law.
Abe recalled that when he visited Iran in June, the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made clear that Iran has no intention to produce or possess nuclear weapons, according to nhk.
