SHAFAQNANon-profit organization “Who Is Hussain” with the help of Muslim and non-Muslim volunteers have distributed school supplies to public schools in underprivileged districts of Chicago, the US state of Illinois.

This is the fourth year that WIH is helping to ease the hardship of American kids face as they prepare to return to schools.

Dozens of volunteers on Sunday September 8 and on the eve of Shia Day of Tasu’a gathered at Nicholson STEM Academy to prepare supplies including backpacks, pencils papers and other tools to 1,200 public schools. This year’s moto as other previous years was with the hashtag of #Hussaininspires.

“Who is Hussain” is a social justice movement that was established in 2012 in London and later expanded in 90 cities across the world. WIH’s teams of volunteers host local events to take positive change in their surrounding societies by feeding the hungry, helping the homeless and even donating blood to save lives.
