Why instead of seeking the highest positions, one must pursue doing good deeds?

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from Imam Sajjad (AS) who said: Avoid seeking high positions and high status; why? Because by doing so, God will make you needy. Meaning, the result of this high status will be falling on the floor headlong. Because going up the ladder and reaching its highest point, will follow with Divine Downfall. Beware that following behind in good deeds is better than going forward in corrupt cases. Meaning, high position in the wrong place is worse than not being in high position in good deed [1].
