Hospitality & generosity of the Karbala’s Hussayni processions+ Photos

SHAFAQNA- Alkafeel: The people of Karbala, from many years ago until now, had the custom of making the first ten days of the month of Muharram to the condolences and services. So, before the month of Muharram, they prepare themselves to participate in providing services to the pilgrims, who are visiting the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them).

From the first day of the Muharram, the owners of the processions; young, old, children and women compete to get the honor of providing services to visitors, and providing them with the best of food, drink, lodging and other services that continue until the tenth of Muharram, and some of them until the burial ceremonies of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) on the thirteenth Muharram and even after this date.

The processions and bodies begin to mobilize all the material and moral energies and rush to offer them to the visitors. Wearing black, they are busy preparing food and other necessities to offer them free of charge, praying that the reward of their service can make them closer to the blessings of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), as they believe that serving the visitors of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) is the best of honors.
