Iraqi ambassador in Tehran meets with senior Shia ayatollahs+Video

SHAFAQNANew Iraqi ambassador in Iran who has recently begun his mission met separately with senior Iranian maraji , Nasser Makarem Shirazi, Hossein Nouri Hamedani, Lotfullah Safi Golpaygani and Ja’afar Sobhani in the Iranian city of Qom.

Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi in this meeting told Saad Ajwad Qandeel that Shia seminary schools or hawzah in the holy cities of Qom and Najaf link Iran and Iraq with each other. The ayatollah said it is rare to see countries such as Iran and Iraq in the world, which have religious, political, social and cultural commonalities that are deep, historic and irreversible, where religious bonds them together strongly. Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi described the annual million-man march of Arbaeen as another reason that makes Iraq-Iran inseparable.

Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani hailed the Iraqi nation for hosting millions of pilgrims during the days to Arbaeen processions. Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani noted that the enemy tries to create rift between the Iranian and Iraqi nations but it is unsuccessful and defeated despite all its investments.

Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani praised resistance groups including Hashd al-Shaabi or the Popular Mobilization Units as a force that prevented the enemies to reach their goals and defused plots by Daesh and other Takfiris in Iraq and Syria.

According to Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani, Arbaeen is a show of power and unity between the two neighboring countries.

Grand Ayatollah Lutfollah Safi Golpaygani said the love of Ahlul Bayt bonds Iraq and Iran, they are essentially not two but a united nation. He described the march of Arbaeen as a divine miracle and thanked the Iraqi officials for proving pilgrims with all the facilities.

Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani said Imam Husayn (A.S.) is not only related to Shia or Islamic ummah and his moto is no to cruelty and hegemony. Further, during their meeting, the grand ayatollah talked about Arabic style of poetry in Iraq, which has been deeply influenced by the Battle of Karbala and recited pieces of Arabic poetry for his guests.
