SHAFAQNA- Iranian President Hasan Rouhani and German Chancellor Angela Merkel met for the first time at the UN headquarters and discussed further cooperation, ways to preserve Iran Nuclear Deal and deescalating tensions in the region, according to IRNA.
Rouhani arrived in New York late on Monday to attend the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Discussing the details of the idea of creating a coalition for peace called ‘Hope’ and ‘Hormoz Peace Initiative’ is a topic of the President’s talks with other world leaders.
He also had summits with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, French President Emmanuel Macron, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan as well as meeting with senior US media managers, on the sidelines of the UNGA session, Iran press told.
