Can a person in debt go to Ziarat Arbaeen? The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei’s answer

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about travelling when in debt.

Question: Can a person who owes money to his relatives and friends go to Ziarat Arbaeen?

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: There is no problem if the time of debt payment has not been reached, or the creditor has given him/her time for paying debt; and if the time for paying debt has been reached and is able to pay debt and the debtor also is demanding to be paid, first pay his/her debt. And if the debtor travels with the intention of avoiding Wajib like not paying for an obligation which the time of payment has been reached, his/her Salaat is complete; but if travels without this intention, even though is avoiding Wajib, his/her Salaat is broken.
