SHAFAQNA- “At present, Saudi Arabia and the other invaders have been trapped in a huge swamp,” said a former Iranian ambassador to Yemen.
Dr. Asghar Qureishi emphasized that the situation in Yemen is very turbulent and Saudi Arabia and UAE each pursue their own goals in Yemen, and due to the UAE’s intervention, the situation in southern Yemen is uncertain and it seeks to divide southern Yemen, while Saudi Arabia pursues its interests and goals through making war in the region.
“These interventions and wars have had a profound effect on Yemen, and many Yemenis have become victims of these goals over the years. The Yemeni community is very traditional, and they preserved their legacies, and this caused Yemen to be always in political commotion“, the former Iranian ambassador to Yemen said.
He added that, at present, Saudi Arabia and other invaders have been trapped in a huge swamp in Yemen, just as every other invaders who attacked Yemen years ago. In the past, Britain failed when it occupied the city of Aden, and also the Yemeni civil war between the Republicans and others had no ending.
Qureishi said Yemenis have gained good power to face invaders through their experiences, and their recent attack on Saudi oil facilities and also the presence of Ansarollah in ground operations could have caused fatal blows to Saudi Arabia and to force it to retreat.
He also added that Ansarullah has come to power for a long time ago, and when Mansour al-Hadi moved toward the south of Yemen, the United States was concerned about the Ansarullah’s power, because of the important position of the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The former Iranian ambassador to Yemen reiterated that the Bab al-Mandab Strait is one of the most important straits in international trades, with more than 5 million barrels of oil passing through the strait daily.
He said, today, Ansarullah has reached a position where new negotiations are underway between Ansarullah and the UN envoy in order to talk on the three reference documents for the Yemeni region.
Qureishi said: Iran supports Yemen culturally and spiritually, but does not intervene there, and even there are many obstacles to help the Yemeni people, because Saudi Arabia does not allow help to reach them.
Former Iranian ambassador to Yemen stated that it should be considered that Ansarullah was not created by the Islamic Republic or provoked by the Iranian for uprising, but due to a historical process it organized the defense of the oppressed people of Yemen.
