SHAFAQNA – It is narrated that in the afternoon of Tasua, Imam Hussain (AS) sent a messenger to Omar Saad to inform him that at night time Imam (AS) wanted to meet him in a place between two armies. When it was night time, Omar Saad with twenty of his people and Imam Hussain (AS) also with twenty of his companions gathered in the designated place. Imam (AS) ordered his companions to go back except his brother Abbas (AS) and his son Ali Akbar (AS). Omar Saad also told his people to go back and kept his son Hafs and his slave with him. First Imam Hussain (AS) started talking by saying: O’ the son of Saad, do you not fear God whom you will return to? Do you fight with me whilst you know who I am? Leave this group and be with us and this will cause you to get close to God.
Ibn Saad replied: If I leave this group, I fear they will destroy my house! Imam Hussain (AS) said: I will build that for you. Ibn Saad said: I fear my wealth and property will be confiscated! Imam (AS) said: I will give you better than that from my own wealth in Hijaz. Ibn Saad said: I fear for the lives of my family, and fear Ibn Ziad will kill them all. When Imam Hussain (AS) noticed that Ibn Saad is not going to change his mind, said nothing and turned away from him and whilst standing up said: What is wrong with you? Allah (SWT) will soon take your life in your bed and you will not be forgiven on the Day of Judgement [1].
