SHAFAQNA – Al Kafeel : A metal separation at the Qibla gate of the Shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (AS) was installed continuing the development campaign of the shrine to regulate the movement of visitors and vehicles.
The street of the Qibla Gate of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (AS) has witnessed many works aimed at developing it, which contributes to achieve the highest degree of flow of visitors and vehicles, as it is the most important street leading to the holy shrine and is particularly crowded in the seasons of Ziyarat. Among these works, a monumental decorative metal movable separation was recently installed behind its main entrance on the side of the Republic Street.
Eng. Samir Abbas Ali, head of the Engineering Maintenance Department at the al-Abbas‘s (AS) Holy Shrine, which is responsible for implementing it, explained to the al-Kafeel Network: “Among the works that the department has started to supervise and implement are the separations regulating the movement of visitors and vehicles in the Qibla Street of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (AS).”
He added: “The project was financed by one of the donators and the design was chosen by the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas’s (AS) Holy Shrine, and then the security caravans have been shifted back to allow for more smooth entry of vehicles, in addition to arranging the street as much as possible as the checkpoint was shifted to the side, which gave more aesthetic to the Qibla gate of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (AS) and the holy shrine. ”
He pointed out: “The separation was imported from the UAE after selecting the appropriate model. And in our turn -as the Department of the Engineering Maintenance- we supervised the work and prepared the infrastructure to install the separation before fixing it.”
He continued: “This separation is made of stainless steel and thick aluminium, and is inlaid with inscriptions and consistent decorations in harmony with the inscriptions of the al-Abbas’s (AS) Holy Shrine. And it is hoped that another separation in the same form but with lower height will be installed in the same street, and we are working to create the right place for it in order to provide more space to create higher flow and easier movement of visitors and vehicles. ”
