SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about keeping ties with relatives.
Question: Is it Wajib to keep ties with relatives who seeing them causes mental disturbance, and leads to being accused (by others), and defamation?
The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: Cutting ties with blood relatives is not allowed, but keeping ties is not restricted to going and seeing them, and this can be done by sending messages and asking how they are, or by talking to them on the phone, or by writing letters.
