Israel urges Palastine for calm following minister’s death

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association)- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a letter to the Palestinian Authority urging for calm following the death of Minister Ziad Abu Ein after he was attacked by Israeli soldiersyesterday, the Anadolu Agency reported.

Israel’s Channel 1 quoted a statement issued by Netanyahu’s office as saying: “Prime Minister Netanyahu conveyed a letter to the Palestinian Authority via his confidant Yitzhak Molho pledging that Israel will investigate the incident that occurred today near Ramallah,” in reference to Abu Ein’s death.

“The prime minister noted the importance of calming the ground, and acting responsibly,” the statement continued.

The channel said Israel seeks to calm the situation after Abu Ein’s death. “Netanyahu conducted security consultations Wednesday evening with leaders of the Israeli security services to assess the situation.”

Abu Ein died after he was attacked by the Israeli army during an anti-settlement protest in the town of Turmusiya, north of Ramallah.
