Japan PM Shinzo Abe set to resign

SHAFAQNA- Japan’s prime minister, Shinzo Abe, is set to resign, according to public broadcaster NHK.

The Japanese national broadcaster NHK said on Friday that Shinzo Abe wanted to avoid causing problems to government due to a worsening of his chronic health condition.

Speculation about Abe’s health had risen after he made two hospital visits in the space of a week. He has battled the chronic disease ulcerative colitis for years, Reuters reported.
