SHAFAQNA- Astan Quds Hussaini is preparing for the “Rakdat Tawirij” ceremony, which coincides with next Sunday, amidst strict measures to prevent the Coronavirus.
The representative of the Grand Ayatollah Sistani and the religious trustee of Astan Quds Hussaini today (Thursday) being informed about the preparations for the Day of Ashura and the Rakdat Tawirij, which coincides with next Sunday. Sheikh Karbalai stressed the need for the health of pilgrims and the provision of all logistical matters for this purpose.
The Tawirij procession is the largest mourning ceremony for Imam Hussain (A.S) in the world that moves from the Qantara Al-Salam neighbourhood of eastern Karbala, and from the city of Tawirij to Karbala every year, on the Day of Ashura, after the noon and evening prayers.
