International Shia News Agency rabbi slams Israel’s ‘bloodshed’ in Gaza

SHAFAQNA (International Shia News Association)-An American anti-Zionist Rabbi has harshly criticized Israel’s latest “bloodshed” of civilians in the Gaza Strip, saying Zionism is the “root-cause of suffering” in Palestine.

“We are clearly and in total opposition to the occupation and what is happening in Gaza, we pray every day for the speedy and total dismantlement of the Zionist ‘state of Israel’,” Rabbi Yisroel David Weiss, activist and spokesman for the anti-Zionist Haredi Jewish community, told  Press TV on Wednesday.

Based in Monsey, New York, Weiss believes that real observant Jews should peacefully oppose the existence of Israel, which he said is “directly against the command of God.”

Zionists in Israel are “committing atrocities, they’re robbing, they’re stealing, they’re killing, everything is in total breach of the laws of the Torah,” he stated. “If it would have not been the Zionist occupation, the ideology of Zionism and ‘the state of Israel’, then we would have been continuing to live in peace as we had for hundreds and hundreds of years with Arabs and Muslims.”

Rabbi Weiss was part of a group of anti-Zionism Jewish protesters that set fire to their Israeli passports in front of the United Nations’ building in New York City on Tuesday in condemnation of the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people.

The protesters were angry about the recent Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip.

“This is the worst crime and it will bring the worst punishment for the Zionist evil people,” anti-Israel Rabbi Abraham Chaim Cheshe told Press TV.

Israel launched an aerial military campaign against Gaza in early July and later expanded its operation with a ground invasion.

More than 2,137 Palestinians have been killed so far in the Israeli onslaught and some 11,000 others have also been wounded.
