Arbaeen Exhibitions Open in Lebanon

SHAFAQNA- On the occasion of Arbaeen (the 40th day after Ashura), a series of exhibitions titled “The Path of Love” was opened in a ceremony in Beirut, Lebanon.

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the opening ceremony of the first exhibition was held on November 4 at Risalat Society in Ghobeiry district of the city.
80 photos of the Arbaeen processions and a number of cultural and religious products have been put on display at the exhibition.
Some of the photos were taken by Kamaluddin Shahrokh, Iranian photographer who has taken thousands of photos from the holy cities of Mecca and Medina as well as the holy cities in Iraq and ritual ceremonies and published some collections of his photos.
Photos taken by Muslim university students from different countries collected by the World Association of Muslim Students have also been put on display at the expo.
The ceremony was attended by Mohammad Sadeq Fazli, Iran’s chargé d’affaires, Mohammad Mahdi Shariatmadar, Iranian cultural attaché in Lebanon, Mohammad Saeed Al-Khansa, mayor of Ghobeiry, Sheikh Ali Zahir, the head of the art activities of Hezbollah resistance movement and head of Risalat Society, Haj Ali Zariq, the head of Qabas Association for Preservation of Lebanon’s Religious-Cultural Heritage, Hamza Al-Bishtawi, the head of Iran-Palestine Friendship Society and some members of the society as well as a number of religious, political and cultural figures and artists.
Addressing the ceremony, Iranian cultural official talked about the status of love in religious teachings and Muslims’ love for Imam Hussein (AS) and the influence of the Ashura uprising on the history of religious culture and on those seeking freedom all over the world.
He said that the march in Arbaeen and everyone’s effort to serve the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (AS) are a manifestation of love and faith in the Islamic culture.
He noted that the exhibition features only a small part of this great annual gathering in Karbala.
The mayor of  Ghobeiri also presented a speech about Ashura and appreciated the cooperation of the Iranian Cultural Center in holding the exhibition in different parts of Lebanon.
Kamaluddin Shahrokh also addressed the program and said he has presented 29 colorful photos of the Arbaeen march of millions of people in Iraq.
The exhibition will also be held in Khayyam, Tayyiba, Meiss Al-Jabal, Bint Jbeil, Baalbek and the University of Lebanon.
The closing ceremony of the exhibition will be held on the day of Arbaeen next week.
A workshop on religious photography will also be held by Iranian artists on the sidelines of the exhibition in Lebanon.
