Russia delivers aid to Syria

SHAFAQNA  – On Friday, the head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation – Lt. Gen. Sergei Kuralenko -confirmed the delivery of over 19 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the civilians living in the provinces of Damascus, Hama, and Homs.

Lt. Gen. Kuralenko further added that many of these humanitarian aid deliveries were completed while under heavy gun fire from armed militants in the aforementioned provinces.

“In the past week, the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring sides in Syria delivered more than 19 tonnes of humanitarian aid to populated areas in the provinces of Damascus, Hama and Homs. I would like to point out that humanitarian cargoes for the residents of the Hama province were repeatedly delivered by us under fire from the militants.”

The Russian Center for Reconciliation also delivered 3.8 tonnes of food and medicinal supplies to the reconciled town of Yalda on Friday; this was the latest humanitarian aid delivery.
