Is fulfilling one’s obligation part of the religion?

SHAFAQNA – According to Islam, the principles of morality are very important and are considered as part of the religion and the sign of wisdom. Therefore, the one, who does not commit to morality, is neither religious nor wise; it must be said that the one who does not fulfill his/her obligations, has no religion or wisdom.

In Ayah 34 of Surah Al-Isra, Allah (SWT) commands the believers: “Fulfill your obligations because you will be accounted for (all) your obligations.” That is why the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) said: The one who does not fulfill his/her obligations (contract, agreement, treaty, promise), has no religion [1].
