SHAFAQNA- In a display of interfaith solidarity, a rabbi, an archbishop, and a Mufti were among those who gathered in Istanbul to denounce Israel’s atrocities against the people of Gaza while calling for the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state.
In traditional Jewish clothing, Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss expressed his concerns about the ongoing mass slaughter by the Israeli state and emphasized that it is intended to dehumanize the Palestinian people. He also wore a Palestinian keffiyeh as a symbol of solidarity.
Rabbi Weiss, who had journeyed from New York to Istanbul for the European Summit for Palestine arranged by the European Muslim Forum, stated that Israel s brutal actions in Gaza are unrelated to either Judaism or Islam.
