Question: What is the ruling about eating giraffe, kangaroo, and penguin meat?
The Grand Ayatollah Sistani: Avoid eating giraffe meat according to Wajib precaution. According to Wajib precaution eating kangaroo meat is not allowed. Penguin is considered as a bird, so if it has maw or gizzard and/or thorn behind the heel is Halal, otherwise it is Haram to eat, and it is also Haram if in doubt (about it).
