UK mosque raises £1,000 for Yorkshire cancer charity

SHAFAQNA – Members of Bradford’s Al-Huda Masjid Mosque and Community Centre, in Legrams Lane, recently invited Cancer Support Yorkshire to talk to its members about the charitable work they do to support the local community and to present a cheque from money raised by members.

Caroline Lewis, a fundraiser with Cancer Support Yorkshire, went along to meet everyone.

“I had a wonderful visit and was made to feel very welcome,” she said. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the members which resulted in a cheque for £1,000. We are extremely pleased with this amount as it will make such a difference to Cancer Support Yorkshire.

“They believe it’s important to help local charities and we’re grateful that they chose us. We help thousands of people, affected by cancer, every year. All services are free but this is only possible because of the kind donations we receive.”
